Because we are independent consultants who work directly for you, we are able to work with every estate agent in the region as well as private sellers and Notaires. You are not limited to one agent’s properties, you have professional level access to every property for sale in the region. There is NO true Multiple Listing Service in France - so agents show you only what they have on the books. And because we were agents ourselves, we know how agencies work.

Buyers agents who tell you they charge no fees to you are tied in the same way to working with agencies who have agreed to share their commission - not all agencies do. Plus, most importantly, they only get paid when you buy - unlike our service which is there for you for the long haul. We are in no rush - we are dedicated to finding your dream property, no matter how long that takes.

How does it work?

The process is all about you. We begin with a lengthy consultation to understand your general requirements and, more importantly, to get to know YOU. We want to have as much information as possible before we start our search. Finding the perfect home is a very personal business. The more we know about you - your plans for the future, your family, your lifestyle now and the one you imagine - the better. PLUS, there is so much about the property market in France that is unlike anything you would find in the US or UK, so we spend a lot of time educating you so that you can better understand the French system and manage expectations and timelines.

From this point, we begin our search by creating a shared spreadsheet for us both to populate with properties that have caught your eye and that we think are interesting for you to consider. We narrow the list and prepare a visiting schedule to make the process as streamlined as possible.

Once you have chosen your favorites, we review these against your original search criteria to keep our eyes on the prize that is the best investment for you and for your wallet. We help you formulate an offer and manage this process, with its different cultural norms around negotiating, etcetera. Once you and the buyer have reached an agreement we start the process with the Notaire, a french civil lawyer who must oversee the transaction. We are with you as your advocate throughout this process, translating documents and making sure you understand everything about this property before you sign the final papers. Our job doesn't end until you are holding the keys to your new home in France!
